About BoardPrep

BoardPrep is a free study tool for CBSE Class 10 and 12 students, built by Dhi & Kin. Every paper, practice question and mock test is free.

Where the papers come from

All question papers and marking schemes are published by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE): board exam papers from cbse.gov.in, and additional practice papers and the 2026-27 Sample Question Papers from cbseacademic.nic.in. BoardPrep currently includes 192 board exam papers (2022–2026, two sets per subject per year from different regions) and 7,694 individual questions.

How the data is built

  1. Splitting papers into questions. Each PDF is read page by page. For bilingual papers only the English version is used. Scanned papers are read with text recognition.
  2. Matching answers. Each question is matched to its answer in the official CBSE marking scheme, including marking schemes that contain several sets.
  3. Chapter tagging. Questions are tagged to NCERT chapters by subject-specific keywords.
  4. Chapter weightage. For each chapter we add up the marks of its questions in each 2023–2026 board paper and average across papers. The 2022 Term 2 papers are excluded because they covered half the syllabus.
  5. Repeated questions. Questions are compared across board papers by their key words. A question is marked as repeated only when at least half of its key words match a question from a different board year.

Chapter tags and repeat detection are automated and can occasionally be wrong. If you spot an error, contact us through dhiandkin.com.

Independence

BoardPrep is not affiliated with or endorsed by CBSE. Question papers remain the work of CBSE; BoardPrep links to them and organises them for practice.
